Current WIP Update-

I realized recently that the short story/novella series I am currently working on is actually longer than I want/expected.

The plan is to do with it what I’ve done with the His Curvy Mate Series and the Shifters Love Curves Series. Each story will be posted as an eBook, and then, once all five books are finished and published, I will put them together in a box set with a paperback. However, I can’t really do that if these novellas are actually closer to being full-length novels. If I did, the paperbacks would be HUGE.

Because of this, I have been going through what I have so far in my current WIP, and I have been doing what I can to lower the word count. I’m not taking away from the story at all, but I am getting rid of unnecessary words and whatnot. It’s a little tedious, I’ll admit, but that’s all a part of writing. And, to be honest, I am loving every minute of it.

I’m not going to lie, the fact that, until recently, I’ve been unable to devote the time I want to writing was upsetting. This is my passion, it always has been, but I had to finish my Pharmacy Tech Course before the deadline so that I can help my family. In this economy, one income, even a stable military one, isn’t enough anymore. Especially here in California. That’s why I am working on becoming a Certified Pharmacy Technician.

My husband and I both agreed that I’ll only be working part-time, though I’m still not 100% convinced that will be enough. If that’s the case, then I’ll still be able to write too. I am trying to get a bit ahead so that even without being able to write full-time, I’ll still be able to publish promptly (not like this two-year gap I’m currently in the middle of).

Naturally, all this takes time, and while I am not working on my course anymore, since I passed it with a 98%, I still have to study for the Certification Exam. However, that should only take like 2-4 hours out of my day. So, I am in the process of figuring out a schedule that balances both writing and the 2-4 hours of studying. As I only finished my course a week ago, I’m still working some things out. Hopefully, next week I will have a better update!

Until next time, happy reading!
