As you know, I’ve been deep in the writing cave trying to crank out this new short story series. Can I still call it a short story series if they are going to be between 30-50k? Technically, that’s novella sized…. Anyway!
In the last week, I have actually made a lot of progress on this series. I have all five books planned out for the most part, or I know what’s going to happen in them at least. I have the overarching story, the characters, the tropes, a possible cover that I made myself (YAY!) and the beginnings of a plan. LOL. We all know that plans can change, so I left it a bit loose to accommodate for that.
Book One is already underway and currently sitting at 8,625 words (Prologue-Chapter Two). I have chapter three outlined and will be working on that today, and chapter four is partially outlined, which I will also be working on if I have the time. (It’s my son’s 12th birthday today!) My Beta Readers are LOVING it by the way. They say it’s deliciously dark and very captivating, so GO ME!
I was HOPING to get this book out next month, but after doing a bit of the math last night, I’m not sure that’s possible. Maybe beginning of June instead. I am going to talk to my PA and get her opinion on it and what we can do, and I am still trying to push to get ahead since I’m pretty behind now due to the change. At this point in time, I can’t give an exact date, or even a close estimate, but I am hoping to have that in the coming days when I see how far I can get this week.
My original goal was to get 3 chapters done a week, and then I’d have plenty of time to get it released by next month. But with my having to drive to my family members house every Thursday now to help them clean (medical reasons), I’m not sure that’s feasible anymore. Guess we will see!
